Lashun White
Anthropologist
Author

LaShun White is a powerful, socially conscious storyteller who doesn’t shy away from the uncomfortable truths. Her writing fearlessly examines race, gender, and power, centering the experiences of Black women as they navigate injustice, bias, and resilience. From the dangers of red-pill misogyny to the disparities in healthcare or the dynamics of bias in relationships, White’s stories blend emotional depth with sharp social commentary. Each narrative invites readers to question, reflect, and see the world through a more honest lens.
Her stories are raw, honest, and deeply human.
LaShun White is an anthropologist turned storyteller whose work moves fluidly between bold fiction, self-help journals, and photo essays exploring the history of Black America. Since her debut novel Bad to the Bone in October 2024, she has continued to release titles from a body of work she has been building since 2015.
Her catalog spans thrillers, romance, and mystery, along with an award-driven work of historical fiction set for release this Fall 2026. Fiction remains her favorite genre because it offers a deeper look into the foundation of Black life and culture. As an openly queer author, LaShun writes authentic lesbian narratives with intention, creating the kind of representation she knows is still too rare in fiction.
She is especially drawn to novellas, embracing stories that are short, engaging, and impossible to put down. LaShun still holds close the very first book she created at just four years old, ten handmade pages that sparked a lifelong love of storytelling. Beyond writing, she is passionate about all forms of art and continues to explore new ways to capture and reflect the human experience.
